Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has admitted that he could return to German football or move to the MLS in the future.

The World Cup winner is an essential member of the Gunners’ starting XI and the creative force in the final third for the North London outfit.

Speculation continues to blight Ozil’s time at Arsenal, with the diminutive attacker linked with an exit from the Emirates Stadium, especially as a new contract has not yet been agreed for the former Real Madrid and Werder Bremen man.

Ozil has stated that he is open to possibilities in the future and could well end up back in his homeland or over in the United States when the time is right.

“In football, you can never say never. You don’t know what will happen. I had a good time in Germany. That was a lot of fun,” he told German newspaper Express.

“Eventually [moving to MLS] could be an option. I have fun everywhere. My fans know that I like to spend my vacation in Los Angeles, because the city inspires me.”

Ozil created 19 assists in the Premier League last season and put in a mercurial performance in Arsenal’s last game – a 3-1 win over Watford at Vicarage Road.

The gifted midfielder will be essential if the Gunners are to reach their potential and challenge for major silverware this season and in the future.
