Arsenal are ready to listen to offers for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and are stalling on offering the England international midfielder a new contract, according to The Independent.

The Gunners have comprehensive options in the final third and these have been boosted by the signature of Lucas Perez over the summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been a success in North London since moving to the Emirates Stadium from Southampton but has never been assured of a regular place in the Arsenal side.

Although the Englishman has received a chance to play at the start of this season, when Aaron Ramsey returns to fitness it could be tough for the star to win a starting berth in Arsene Wenger’s side.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was also left out of the England squad to feature at Euro 2016, with the versatile midfielder lacking consistent football.

The report suggests that Arsenal are not furthering talks with the player over an extension of his current contract and were willing to offload the star over the summer but could not find a suitable buyer.
