Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal are still in the Premier League title race.
The Gunners currently sit third in the Premier League table after salvaging a point at White Hart Lane to second placed Spurs, who are three in front of Arsenal, and eight behind Leicester City.
But despite Arsenal’s recent form and congested schedule, Wenger believes his side can still be crowned Premier League champions come the end of the season:
‘The Premier League is far from being over. Just to remind you, we have beaten Leicester twice so we have done our job against them.
‘People have to look at other teams more, not just us on that front. We will not give up the Premier League, we will fight until the end.’
The Frenchman added:
‘We are in a position where we always have to win the next game. It is always the most important game of our life because it is treated like that by everybody else. That’s the way we treat it. It’s the most important game of the season for us because it’s the next one.’
Mathematically, the title is still on for the Gunners. There are nine matches to play still, but with the recent form the team is in and a number of big games ahead, many will question whether Arsenal can cross the finishing line in first place.
Can Arsenal win the title? Yes.
Will they win the title? It’s unlikely at this point – unless of course they win every game from now until the end of the season and Spurs and Leicester’s form dramatically dips.
