Inaki WilliamsArsenal have joined the race to sign Althletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams.

The Daily Mail suggested yesterday that Liverpool now have to fend off interest from Arsenal, who supposedly sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action against Villarreal on Wednesday where he scored the only goal in the game.

Williams has been clocked at 22.2 mph, making him the fastest player currently in La Liga, and reportedly has a £15.3 million release clause in his current deal at Bilbao.

With interest building and Bilbao reluctant to sell, the La Liga club are now thought to want to tie the forward down to a new deal and raise the current release clause of £15.3 million to £76.3 million in an attempt to scare off potential suitors.

Although primarily a right winger, the Spain Under-21 international can play anywhere across the front three and is seen as one of Spain’s brightest prospects

Williams has netted 10 goals in 22 total appearances so far for Bilbao this season.

Arsene Wenger has previously stated that there is no one out there in the current market better than Danny Welbeck, and is even willing to wait a couple of weeks for the former United frontman to regain full fitness rather than spend this month.

However, with news of Williams’ buyout clause at just £15.3 million, and a young talent who can bring the current side speed, goals and creativity out wide, would this be an opportunity too good to let pass by?

Buy him! Speed is so perfect for Arsenal. . And if he cant find a better striker to buy than danny then he should move upstairs as he has clearly lost his touch. Welbeck is decent but not world class and we have been crying out for that since Henry.
