arsene-wengerWell it wasn’t the draw we wanted. We got hot-favourites Barcelona in the Last 16 of the Champions League.

The draw will have a lot, if not all Arsenal fans worried about their chances of qualifying, with some even suggesting we are in for a spanking and new customers on Bet365 making that wager. Me? I would like to think we have a chance, but I’m also realistic and previous games against the Spanish giants have not been in our favour. In fact, we have only won one of our last seven meeting with Barca, drawing twice and losing a further four times – so it doesn’t bode well for us.

However, Barcleona director Albert Soler insists Barca will not underestimate the Gunners and believes Arsene Wenger’s side could cause them a problem despite Arsenal being rank outsiders with aussiebet.com.

Speaking after the draw in Nyon, Soler said:

‘Arsenal and Barca have a very similar system of play. I’m convinced the fans will enjoy the football.

‘As always, we have the utmost respect. I’m sure we’ll have some problems playing against them, so let’s wait and see.

‘There will be 180 minutes of football, we have to play two games and we’ll see where that takes us.

‘We hope to have all our players available to ensure the show is a good one.

‘Given that I don’t believe the past affects the future, we’ll go game by game and result by result.’

It promises to be a cracking two-legged affair and from now until February, when the two sides meet at the Emirates, anything can happen – Barca might have a dip in form and possibly have players unavailable for the fixture, but the same can be said about Arsenal.

We go into the tie as underdogs once again, but in football anything is possible, and although many have written off our chances of qualifying to the quarter-finals already, we have nothing to lose which could benefit us over the 180 minutes.

Let’s wait til’ February and then analyse whether we have a shot against the current Champions League holders or not.

Barca may be favourites for the cl but it 100%.The thing is Arsenal must not play Barca at their game: attack. All favourites ,including hot ones, have been beaten.
Matteo played a defensive game and won.The thing is anti soccer is not in Wenger ‘s dna. If he doesn’t adapt to the opposition, the win in Greece will confirm what most people say. Arsenal are there to make up the nos in the cl. Winning it is out of the question.
For the benefit of younger fans the US was neutralized in the Vietnam war in the jungles.
The NV did not confront the US but resorted to guerilla tactics.Of course if the US had used nw it would have been a different outcome.
So for Wenge, he has some options.
