Surely Wenger will act on this in January?

CoquelinWell it was inevitable, wasn’t it? Francis Coquelin has been ruled out of action for at least two months with a knee ligament injury he suffered in Arsenal’s 2-1 away loss to West Brom on Saturday afternoon.

If the result at The Hawthorns wasn’t bad enough for Arsenal fans, Arsene Wenger is now without a reliable defensive midfielder over the busy period of the season.

The 24-year-old has been a revelation for Wenger’s side and has emerged as the club’s first-choice defensive midfielder, pushing captain Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini down the pecking order.

However, Wenger’s decision NOT to add another midfielder enforcer during the summer to accommodate instances such as these could come back to haunt him, with the Frenchman without Coquelin’s services for at least two months:

‘It is a least two months but I’m cautious as we had so many bad surprises on scans that I do not want to speculate more than that. Certainly for the next two months we play without Coquelin.’

So knowing Coquelin is out of action for at least two months, Arteta also sidelined through injury and Flamini Arsenal’s only recognisable defensive midfielder, has Wenger got to sign a new recruit in this position when the January transfer window opens?

I believe this is a must. Who is another matter.

Arsenal have no chance to win the Premiership – not wishing to state the obvious.
Wenger makes the same mistakes over and over and over again.
The injuries to the team and the fact that we have no decent replacements for the players who are injured are wenger’s fault.
Everything that is to do with the failings of the team is Wengers fault.
If we fail to win anything this season hoprefully it will be goodbye – we need a breath of fresh air, not the same mistakes made over again..
