Nikola VlasicArsenal are interested in signing Hadjuk Split winger Nikola Vlasic when the January transfer window opens and are believed to be frontrunners for his signature, according to reports in Italy.

The highly-rated 18-year-old is considered one of Croatian footballs brightest prospects and Gazzetta dello Sport suggests Arsenal will have to fend off interest Inter Milan if they are to land him, with the Serie A outfit ready to launch a bid for the youngster.

It is unclear whether Arsenal will step up their interest in Vlasic when the winter window opens, but Inter are thought to be confident they can get one over the Gunners to sign the young Croat.

Primarily a right winger, Vlasic can also operate on the opposite flank and behind the striker if need be.

The Croatia Under-21 international, who still has two-and-a-half-years left to run on his existing deal and is valued at around £2.5 million by Transfermarkt, has managed to score two goals and create six in 22 appearances in all competitions so far this season for Hadjuk Split.
