gonzalo higuainGonzalo Higuain is pushing for a move to join Arsenal this summer, amid talks that the Gunners are interested in him and have reportedly launched an offer for the Argentine striker.

The 27-year-old is expected to leave Napoli after the Italian club failed to qualify for the Champions League next season, and Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for him, with Arsene Wenger thought to be keen to add to his attacking options this summer.

It was suggested earlier in the week that Arsenal made an opening offer for Higuain of £42.5 million, hoping to tempt Napoli to sell.

However, reports in Italy claimed Napoli are only willing to sell Higuain if his £67 million buyout clause is met.

The Gunners, however, are unwilling to meet Napoli’s demands, leaving the potential move on the rocks.

But according to Corriere Dello Sport, as reported by Metro, Higuain is trying his best to make the move happen, urging his brother – also his agent – to sort out a move to the Emirates.

Arsene Wenger attempted to sign Higuain in 2013 and is still believed to be a fan of the forward.

With that being said, I highly doubt the Frenchman will shell out £67 million for him. But its good to know the player is keen on a move to Arsenal.
