Jackson MartinezArsenal still have hope of landing Porto striker Jackson Martinez this summer, according to his agent.

Over the weekend it was claimed by Porto president Pinto da Costa that the 28-year-old Colombian had opted for a move to Milan after revealing his intention to leave the Portuguese club this summer, despite reported interest from the Gunners.

However, Martinez’s agent, Luiz Henrique Pompeo, has dismissed these claims, saying nothing has yet been agreed:

‘Jackson didn’t say anything about Milan because there was no need to. Nothing has been decided yet.’

Martinez is believed to have a £25 million release clause in his current contract and from what I gather, it seems the player has not yet decided where he will be playing his football next season.

But Pompeo’s comments will come as a huge sigh of relief for Arsenal and those fans who want to see him at the Emirates this summer as they yet have the possibility of signing him during this transfer window – if of course they are willing to meet Martinez’s release clause fee.
