1. Arsenal are in their 17 successive Champions League campaign, but they have failed to go beyond the last 16 in the last four years.

2. Anderlecht have played 28 times against English sides (W6 D4 L18). At home their record is W5 D3 L6 (not including the 1976 European Cup Winners’ Cup final versus West Ham United FC).

3. The last time Anderlecht and Arsenal met was in the 1970’s Fair Cup in April, with the Gunners coming out 3-1 winners at home and losing the same score line in the revers fixture.

4. Anderlecht have only managed to pick up two points from a possible 24 Champions Leage games to date.

5. Four of their previous six fixtures against Belgian sides have involved R. Standard de Liège, Arsenal beating them away (3-2) and home (2-0) in the 2009/10 group stage. Cyriac appeared as a second-half substitute for Standard at Arsenal Stadium on 24 November 2009.

6. The Belgian side have only managed to reach the last 16 of the Champions League – this came back in the 2000/01 season. Since then, then they have finished bottom of their group seven times.
