Mesut OzilMesut Ozil is unhappy at Arsenal and could be set to leave the Gunners when the January transfer window opens.

The Daily Mail suggests the German playmaker has grown disillusioned with Arsene Wenger and upset at not being played in his preferred position behind the striker

Ozil, who is out until the New Year, could have played his last game for Arsenal with Bayern Munich lining up a bid of around £30 million – £12.5 million less than what the Gunners splashed out for him last summer.

The 25-year-old has struggled to settle at the Emirates but has produced moments of brilliance when played in the centre of midfield. Unfortunately for him though, he has found himself operating on the wings since arriving at Arsenal and has been criticised by fans and pundits alike for his displays.

Wenger opts to avoid doing business in the winter window but could be tempted to offload Ozil to finally sign Sami Khedira from Real Madrid – a move which many Arsenal fans would be in favour of, or even bring in Julian Draxler from Schalke.

Ozil’s commitment has been questioned since joining the club last summer, with many believing he looks disinterested and unhappy, so it comes as no surprise to me that the German is reportedly considering his future.

I am a huge fan of the guy and believe he is one of our best players when on his game and deployed in his natural position. However, if he is not happy at the club and wants to leave then it’s probably best that we offload him.

What should we do with Ozil?

  • No Pressure says:

Its not his fault that he is persistently played out of position.

Wenger spends £42 million on a player and never plays him in the position that made him a £42 million player to begin with.

You feel that the club would perform so much better if Wenger stopped trying to change players positions – if he wants a left back then buy a left back not a central midfielder and hope that he develops into a quality left back.

Wenger just makes everything so much harder than it ought to be and you feel that a more pragmatic manager like Mourinho would have been far more productive than Wenger.

The project is over – the money is there and there are no excuses anymore….

Read his twitter, he isn’t going anywhere, journalists shouldn’t be allowed to speculate like that, it’s conjecture and thats it.
