Micah RichardsYesterday, it was reported in the Daily Star that Micah Richards is considering his future at Manchester City, putting Arsenal on red alert.

The 25-year-old still has 18 months left to run on his existing deal at the Etihad Stadium and wants to continue playing his football there.

However, the England defender has been left frustrated at the lack of first-team action, with Pablo Zabaleta ahead of him in the pecking order, starting just one of City’s 13 Premier League games thus far this season.

And is seems Manuel Pellegrini is in no rush to solve the situation:

‘I don’t think it’s the most important thing. Micah is an important player and he has one or two more years of his contract here.

‘At the end of the season I will talk with all the players to see what is the best thing for the club and for them.’

But Richards could well ask for a loan or transfer if things don’t change with the World Cup in Brazil next summer.

Arsene Wenger has been a long-time admirer of Richards, who has revealed in the past that he is an Arsenal fan, and will, according to reports of course, step up his interest in the versatile defender.

This would be, in my opinion, a good move for Arsenal to consider, especially with Bacary Sagna’s future at the Emirates up in limbo.

Richards is also being monitored by Newcastle, Roma and Inter Milan.
