‘No-one from Arsenal has come to us and made us any offers at all for him’

higuainJust when we thought Gonzalo Higuain was on his way to The Emirates, after reportedly sealing a £23 million move and agreeing terms with the north London club, it, according to Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, doesn’t seem to be the case.

Perez claimed that there have been no offers from Arsenal for the 25-year-old striker and also suggests Higuain is still wanted at the La Liga club, despite being told by the Real hierarchy at the end of the last season that he will be sold.

However, in an interview with Univision, Perez said:

‘We don’t want Higuain to leave.

‘What’s more no-one from Arsenal has come to us and made us any offers at all for him. There are no offers on the table.’

I’m starting to worry about this potential move to be honest. Something doesn’t seem to be adding up here.

First off he was told he could leave Real by the club’s management, now the president claims they still want him on their books. Then we hear by both Higuain’s brother and father that a move to Arsenal is close and talks are at an advanced stage. But how long does it take to tie up a player? Surely by now everything would’ve have been agreed and in place.

I don’t know who to believe anymore and am starting to wonder whether or not we are actually targeting the Argentine this summer.

Let’s see where this goes.

there really are some mind bogglingly stupid comments on this thread.. as was stated by someone we NEVER reveal our targets until they are actually signed.. Perez is one of the most annoying Presidents in club football and the things he says should be taken with a pinch of salt.. Do you believe Higuain himself, his Father and his Brother.. or Perez who is obviously trying to eek even more money out of Arsenal for the transfer to go ahead.. if its the latter I take pity on you you thick naïve people.. Havent we learned by now that until a transfer is announced by our good selves its not worth bothering to believe all the rumours bandied about..

wenger has sold out to his American paymasters ,no marque signing ,off load fringe players to lower wage bill ,sell who he can .wenger no longer cares about winning trophies ,just milking a pension fund for himself

Sadly, it seems that yet another summer of pain looms large. Promises of world stars and money to pay any wage have served to sell season tickets. Frustration , anger and resignation hang in the air. When will we ever step up to the mark and sign a big star? Sick of hearing all of the ‘maybes’ and now it is time to deliver otherwise next year we will not scrape over the line.
