Will he truly suffer further if Higuain comes in?

|

Lukas PodolskiIf reports are to be believed, Gonzalo Higuain is very close to sealing a £23 million deal to Arsenal.

His potential inclusion into the squad this summer will no doubt be welcomed by the majority of the Emirates faithful and players alike. None more so than Lukas Podolski.

The German forward, who started 25 Premier League matches for Wenger’s side last season, is glad to see The Gunners spending big, even though he will face more competition for a starting role.

However, Podolski is determined to fight off the likes of Higuain and Olivier Giroud for a spot in the starting line-up.

On the news of Higuain joining the club, the 28-year-old said:

‘It is always good when good players come in. I don’t worry about a specific player. And it is certainly not a problem.

‘I am strong enough and I have qualities. And when good players come in, I will play with good players.

‘Every season players come in and players go. But I think it is good news if top players come in.’

To be honest, I don’t think Higuain’s potential arrival will affect Podolski in any way, as the Argentine is a centre-forward, not a wide-man. If anything, it will be Giroud’s position in the side which will be under threat.

Nonetheless, if players of Higuain’s quality are coming in this summer, the current crop of lads will have to prove their worth and step up their game to remain in the starting XI.

I’m totally fed up of this greedy board members headed by Kroenke and co. The board are playing on the fan’s inteligence, how on earth will you continue negotiating a deal on someone whose father have given his blessing that he should play in the premier league and specifically Arsenal by the player himself. Shame on the board of arsenal club, continue pinching the fund in your custody without spending it. Why! why!! why!!!

The transfer season is really only just got going properly so no need to panic. The Higuain transfer is more down to Real installing a manager and changing goal posts than us . As for Szczesny claim in a way he is right. I have looked at top six teams first 10 games and last ten games and we have a good start facing only two top six teams in those first ten games and our real banana skins Swansea and Norwich the only other two teams outside top six top beat us. So in that period we need to record 24 points or more. As when we get into last ten games we have the harder run in with us having to face four top six sides in the last ten games. Get wins from the first three games of season and we could go on a strong run before we face other top four sides and have confidence going into them.
