Arsenal have been made odds-on favourites to sign Nani from Manchester United this summer after Galatasaray withdrew their interest in the Portuguese winger.
The Turkish outfit tabled a £6 million offer for the 26-year-old but it was rejected by the Premier league champions.
Galatasaray’s chairman Unal Aysal said:
‘We offered £6m for him but they didn’t accept. We cannot give more than this.
‘We are not going to follow Nani any more. We cannot afford to pay more than seven million euros for him.
‘They want €10 million (£8.5 million). Because of this, he is not on our transfer targets list any more.’
BwinBetting have The Gunners at 7-1 to sign the tricky wide-man and Ivan Gazidis has repeatedly gone on record saying the club are in a very secure financial position to splash the cash.
Nani, who made just 25 appearances (18 starts) in all competitions last season for the Red Devils, is entering the final of the year of his United contract and has yet to be offered a new deal.
It is believed he is demanding wages of around £90k-a-week to stay at Old Trafford but United are willing to offload him if the right bid comes in.
Although we could afford his transfer fee and his wages, I don’t think Nani should be our priority this summer. We have other areas of the squad we need to improve.
However, should Gervinho leave to join Marseille then an £8.5 million move for Nani would be a smart move.
He has great ability on the ball, bags of skill and likes to get at full-backs. Most importantly though, he has Premier League experience and has the winning mentality that we currently lack.
But unless one of our wingers leave this summer, I don’t think Nani should be high on our ‘to buy’ list.

Nani is a total waste of space, Forget him like ManU have done.
Nani is a good player if only arsenal can afford price, he is a winning player, he is more experience dal all our wingers.
He is a wast of cash and there are better areas that we need strenghting than the wings.
