No hope for Arsenal as French ace is valued at £85.6M by Nicollin

|

Remy CabellaWell one name that won’t be arriving at The Emirates this summer is Remy Cabella, as Montpellier insist the France Under-21 international is ‘non-transferable’.

The Gunners have reportedly keeping an eye on the 23-year-old, who played a major role in Montpellier’s capture of the Ligue 1 title last season.

The creative midfielder has scored seven goals and created eight in 36 appearances this season and has been attracting the attentions of several European clubs due to his impressive performances for the former Ligue 1 champions.

But Montpellier deputy chairman Laurent Nicollin says any interested clubs must fork out at least £85.6 million to even discuss a possible deal.

Nicollin told French radio station RMC:

‘He is non-transferable. We try to anticipate and plan things, even in football, but it’s complicated.

‘The desire of the club is to keep Remy – he was told and knows this. If a club arrives and offers 100m euros, it will be discussed though.’

Arsene Wenger will have a hefty sum of cash to spend this summer, but even he must have chuckled when he read/heard what price Cabella is going at.

What makes me laugh is Cabella’s price-tag is about the same amount at which United sold Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, and the Frenchman is nowhere near the Portugal international’s level.

There is no hope for Arsenal of signing Cabella this summer, not at the price he’s valued at.

out of interest – surely Montpellier as a football club is worth less than that?!

  • rogl says:

that doesn’t mean they won’t sell him for less. it’s just a rhetoric to say 100 million, obviously!

  • Mike says:

I think you guys are looking into that statement a little too much. It sounds like he’s just making a joke because he obviously knows no one is gonna bid that kind of money.

  • Top-Gunner says:

He’s just one of these chairman who likes to talk complete rubbish. Last year i remember his initial valuation of giroud was 50 million and we all know how that turned out.

  • Lukas says:

Didnt this muppet value GIroud at 50m,take his words with a pinch of salt, just tring to put other teams off cause he knows his big names will leave in the next few years.

  • Do we really need him? There are better players out there
