The prolific striker Wenger SHOULD attempt to sign this summer

|

burak yilmazBurak Yilmaz could leave Galatasaray in the summer if he so wishes to do so, according to his manager Fatih Terim. This will come as music to Arsene Wenger’s ears, as the Frenchman is reportedly looking to bolster his strike-force and monitoring the 27-year-old Turkey international.

Yilmaz has been in impressive form for Galatasaray this season, finding the net 26 times in 32 games in all competitions.

And following such inspiring displays for the Turkish outfit, Terim conceded it may be difficult to keep Yilmaz at the Istanbul club beyond the summer.

Quoted in the Daily Mail, he said:

‘It’s not going to be easy to keep him.

‘He has targets but it will be his decision. Being wanted is a good thing, but we are fond of him and believe he will do great things for us in the future.’

Yilmaz has been in explosive form in front of goal this season, especially in the Champions League, scoring eight goals in the European competition.

The Observer suggests, Yilmaz, whose contract expires in 2017, could leave Galatasaray for as little as £10 million – a bargain price for a player currently firing on all cylinders.

Terim went on to state that Yilmaz has same the qualities as former AC Milan and Chelsea forward Andriy Shevchenko, always looking to find the back of the net:

‘Andriy Shevchenko was the same.

‘He is always thinking about scoring one more goal. Loving football is very important. I think he is going to get better and better.’

I have only seen Yilmaz in action in the Champions League and I must say, he is a very impressive footballer.

He is a powerful striker who possesses great movement and technique. He reminds me a little of Karim Benzema in the way he is always looking to get his name on the score-sheet and works hard to do so.

Arsenal should definitely consider making a swoop for the Turkish forward if he does become available this summer, no doubt about it. Before joining Galatasaray at the end of last season, Yilmaz said he WOULD accept a move to Arsenal – so why not test the waters?

And for just £10 million, we would be getting one hell of a striker who is currently on top of his game, rated as one of the most lethal hitmen in European football and could sort out Wenger’s strike-force problem.

Let’s see what happens.

First of all, with his contract expiring in 2017, I seriously doubt it anyone could get him for £10m. That just goes to show how little familiarity you have with the transfer market. The lowest possible price for a regular top scorer in the Turkish league, aged below 30, and an international with a long term contract is somewhere between £15m and £20m. I wouldn’t be surprised if he went for over £25m.
Second, why do you think we need an untested Turkish international with no history of success beyond Turkey? Last season, people were yapping on and on on how Podolski is not top class because he failed at Bayern ages ago – why would Burak be all right now?
Third, we do have Giroud, and if anything, we need a striker with a firmly developed creative side. Joveti? sounds brilliant, but there’s a host of others in that region. Not Burak.

    what a load of Crap.
He is clearly NOT world class.
He hasn’t scored against class defenders, more like the equivilant to our 2nd division regarding the side he plays for.
