Arsenal have handed a weeks trial to 16-year-old midfielder Indio.
The Vasco da Gama youngster will look to impress club scouts and, more importantly, Arsene Wenger during his stay.
The Brazilian wants to play for a European club in the future but recognises that this stint at The Emirates is more about gaining experience than trying to earn a deal.
Indio told Portuguese publication Globo Esporte:
‘I’m anxious for this new stage in my life.
‘I’ll spend a week at Arsenal. It will be cool, I hope I enjoy it.
‘Of course I have the dream of playing for a European club, but everything has its right time.
‘It will be a good experience. I want to learn.’
Indio also revealed that he is a fan of Theo Walcott’s ability, saying:
‘I like him a lot. His style of play is very fast, which pleases me greatly.’
Should Indio make an impression with Wenger and co. then the young midfielder could ultimately join The Gunners when he turns 18 on the 28th of February 2014.
We are not in desperate need of anymore youngsters coming in, as we already have an array of talent in our youth ranks and reserves.
However, if Indio has the ability and Wenger is later keen on signing the Brazilian then why not I say.
