Is a top three finish on the cards?

|

ArsenalOur form has improved immensely since the 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea in late January. Since that loss, we’ve managed to pick up 10 points from 12 and we are looking more confident now than we did at the start of the season.

Many teams above us have had their own slip-ups. Chelsea, who currently occupy third place, are now only five points ahead of us and with 12 games left to go in the Premier League and currently sitting in fifth position, the question now is – should we be aiming to finish in the top three? Is this an achievable goal for us?

A five point gap may seem a lot but it isn’t, and we are yet to play Spurs and Everton who both sit in 4th and 6th place respectively.

So should we keep up our good form and get wins against the likes of Everton and Spurs, as well as the lesser sides in the league, then I definitely think a 3rd place finish isn’t out of our reach. We have the players to mount such a challenge and hopefully, come the end of the season, we finish below both Manchester clubs and claim to be the best side in London this year.

It won’t be an easy task but with the teams confidence slowly building, I wouldn’t be surprised if we did finish in 3rd, despite a shaky start to the season.

Finally someone said it. We shouldn’t be content with 4th place when 3rd isn’t out of reach. And with City’s form, who knows….

I was thinking the same looking over the fixtures left for Tottenham, Chelsea and Everton compared to our own. I definitely feel games wise on paper we have the easier run than the 3 teams I mentioned. We all know that what’s on paper and real life do not always come good, especially the way this season has been for all teams not just us. A top four seems a no brainer but I also considered top 3 a possibility. I imagine it will be united, city, us and Tottenham (hopefully in that order…) in the top 4 with Chelsea’s form continuing to be sporadic. Fingers, toes and balls crossed!

Everton is closer to Man City than they are to Man U. Any one of the teams from 2nd to 7th could finish top 4

Ive also had alook at the last 12fixturez of the season for the top 6 and we only have to play 3 of them 2 in the nx couple of wks then united end of april compared to the rezt we dont have a bad run in aslong as we carry on playing the way we are and points go are way as crazy as it sounds I havent fuled out 2nd. Could u imagine the way are season has gone losing 2great players again for this season having a very slow start then finishing behind united that would get are hunger and confidence pumping for nx season aswell if we do well in the champs league semis? And win the F.A cup all of a sudden weve had a good year. Ive always been optimistic pints always half full good luck arsenal make this happen please fuck up the doubters red and white always
