Arsenal target Mario Gotze will not leave Borussia Dortmund this summer according to his agent.

The 19-year-old German starlet has been linked with a summer move away from the Westfalenstadion with a number of top European clubs, including the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and a few others, believed to be interested in the youngster’s services.

The Gunners reportedly failed with a summer bid for the attacking midfielder, who’s contract with Dortmund doesn’t expire until 2014, but Arsene Wenger remains keen and is said to be scouting the German international.

It was reported earlier this month that Wenger is willing to smash the club’s transfer record to acquire Gotze this summer.

However, according to Gotze’s agent, Volker Struth, the German playmaker will not be leaving Dortmund during the upcoming transfer window:

‘We are always pleased to hear positive news about Mario.

‘But we have said many times recently that Mario plays at least the next season with Borussia.’

Despite his agent’s comments, Gotze could still be sold by Dortmund if the price is right. In addition, the Bundesliga side have already agreed to sign Marco Reus from Borussia Monchengladbach, who could well be Gotze’s immediate replacement.
