Arsenal target keeping options open

|

Arsenal target Lukas Podolski recently stated that he is keeping his options open this summer, revealing he could still seal a move to Serie A outfit Lazio.

The FC Koln striker has been heavily linked with a summer switch to Arsenal over the last few months, with reports in Germany claiming the former Bayern Munich man had agreed to join the Gunners at the end of the season.

Per Mertesacker recently revealed that he and Podolski have been in contact in recent weeks, reportedly asking the Arsenal defender about life in north London.

But with international team-mate Miroslav Klose currently on the books of Lazio, Podolski, who has netted 17 goals in 23 games for FC Koln so far this season, admitted that he wouldn’t mind linking up with the 33-year-old striker.

Quoted in the Barking and Dagenham Post, the German international apparently told Italian publication Il Corriere dello Sport:

‘It would be great to play alongside him again.

‘Miro has spoken well of Lazio and he’s happy in Rome.’

He concluded by saying:

‘My future has yet to be decided.’

Let’s see what happens, because it looks like this transfer saga could drag on a bit.
