Reported Arsenal target Taye Taiwo is unlikely to make a move away from AC Milan this month, according to the left-back’s agent.

Arsene Wenger is highly expected to dip into the market this month and acquire some form of defensive reinforcements after seeing Andre Santos, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson, and Bacary Sagna all fall victim to injuries in recent weeks, and Nigerian international Taiwo has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates to shore up The Gunners defence on a short-term basis.

However, it seems the 26-year-old, who is currently out of favour at the San Siro, may remain in Italy as Arsenal’s interest doesn’t appear to be valid.

Taiwo’s agent, Fabio Parisi, told notiziariosportivo.com:

‘At the moment there is no huge news about Nigerian players, with Arsenal there was only a rumour.

‘I certainly don’t know that Arsene Wenger is looking for a left-back but at this time there has not been any official offer at AC Milan.’
