Arsenal target Mario Gotze will not be leaving Dortmund in January, according to manager Jurgen Klopp.
The 19-year-old is believed to be on top of Arsene Wenger’s wish-list, while Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the young German.
The £30 million-rated midfielder impressed against Arsenal in their first Champions League group phase meeting back in September, and will get another shot to show off his talent to Wenger and all the Arsenal fans tonight at the Emirates.
However, despite increasing speculation over Gotze’s future, Klopp insists his young star will not be going anywhere in January, claiming nobody just buys a player from Dortmund easily:
‘Nothing can happen in January. It’s not a problem. Arsenal is only about 10 per cent of what is written in Germany, so it’s not a problem.
‘Apparently, Bayern Munich are interested in him. He scored one against Bayern Munich and I will be happy if he wins against Arsenal.
‘Nobody buys a player from Borussia Dortmund just like that. Not even Arsenal.’
He finished off by insisting Gotze’s focus remains firm:
‘Luckily, his focus is not an issue. He’s very relaxed about that.’
