Lille president Michel Seydoux has told interested parties that the French club will only listen to offers for Eden Hazard if his €50 million valuation is met.

The mammoth fee, which works out to be around £43 million, will almost certainly put off Arsenal, who were linked with a move for Hazard during the summer.

The 20-year-old Belgian international is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in European football and his rise to prominence in French Football has attracted the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid in recent months.

The Lille winger revealed he is ready to leave the Ligue 1 outfit at the end of the season, as he wants a new challenge. However, while Lille president Seydoux is happy to grant Hazard his wish, the French businessman wants to bank enough cash from Hazard’s potential sale in order to conduct a rebuilding project:

‘The price is €50m and this is clear in advance. We are at a time when the club is having a real discussion about what to do but it will depend on many factors.

‘First, our economic potential and then it depends on the proposals we receive. Nobody is unsellable. You would be able to look for solutions in the market with the money we’d receive.’

Sheer madness!!!

I believe we should pay up the money its 35million pounds i think and that’s not bad for a 20 year old who has the potential to be the next big thing. People seem to forget that Arsenal are not a poor man’s club. If we want him bad enough we will get him.

    Absolutely Ludicrous!

we have the same type of young players who can’t even get in the first team we have to send some out on loan. i am not sure why the papers keep mentioning this one, if arsenal wanted to sign him it would’ve happened in the summer. i am guessing that his agent is pimping him for man city or chelsea. douglas costa or luka silva will be cheaper if we need an addition in january.

Do it. We need to build the team with real stars. I don’t know when Ramsey is going to fulfill his promise, and enough of Arteta, really. Van Persie apart, we’re not exactly setting the world on fire here. RVP has to stay, and these kind of additions are needed to make it an easy decision for him.
