Motivation is what you need, if you want to be a record breaker.
Are expectations too great?
Is history too much of a burden?
Is this the problem at the Emirates?
It seems that gone are the days of Adams, Bould, Vieira, Henry, when pulling on the shirt meant something – when you knew that every time they stepped onto the pitch they would sweat blood for the club and their fans.
A number of the current team don’t seem to have the motivation when the chips are down. As soon as things get tough, they run and hide.
We know Andrey doesn’t have the biggest work ethic and Theo disappears for large chunks of the game, but now, a few months into his Arsenal career, Gervinho looks like he’s caught the ‘do minimum’ bug. These are supposed to be our creative players and they just seem to be swanning around, doing a little trick and then leaving it to the others.
The fans want commitment and passion and apart from a few with Arsenal DNA, it just doesn’t seem to be present at present.
Playing for the club should be motivation enough, but this surely can/must be installed by the management.
Arsene recently stated that ‘we must re-evaluate our targets’
That to me doesn’t motivate. That recognises the problem, accepts it is and accepts its ok to aim lower!!!
Sorry, but not good enough.
We are The Arsenal and we fight to the bitter end.
If the motivation and commitment is not there, then the players have to learn what it means to be a Gooner.
Come talk to the fans because we know!!!
Arsene Wenger needs to stop showing faith in players who don’t know what it means to wear the cannon on their chests!!!
