Could Arsenal make a move for this midfielder after new contract dilemma arises?

|

Valencia face a dilemma over Ever Banega’s contract, as Arsenal, Liverpool and Inter Milan pile pressure on manager Unai Emery, who is desperate to keep the Argentine star at the Mestalla.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder has made an exceptional start to the new La Liga season, impressing pundits and fans alike with his robust performances for Los Che.

However, Banega is inside his final two-years of his existing contract and it is believed that Valencia are yet to open talks over a new deal, which has left the Spanish outfit worried about his future at the club. Valenica are overly concerned that the Argentinean international may demand terms outside their wage structure.

Arsene Wenger, who has also expressed an interest in Banega’s team-mate Dani Parejo, sees the robust midfielder as an ideal solution to Arsenal’s midfield crisis and could be in contact with the La Liga club in the near future.

Banega is too similar to Arteta. He likes to play centrally, sit deep and dictate the play. We have 2 of those already – Jack and Mikel. What we really need is another Nasri – direct, willing to take on defenders, can score. We have Arshavin who doesn’t do anything but run forward, he has barely scored in the past 6 months of football. We need goalscorers, not more midfielders.

Pires and Freddie loved to have the ball and run with it ro shoot on sight, we lost alot of those kinds and all we do now is pass around the box with no end product because no one wants to take on responsbility.
