It appears that we are going to be once again bracing ourselves for another raid on our club for one of our top players in January. However, this time it’s the ‘new money’ side Russian club Anzhi, who earlier this year was taken over by Russian Billionaire Suleyman Kerimov, who are lining up a shock move for one of our stars.

Since this has occurred they have snapped up the likes of Samuel Eto’o and have been targeting our very own Andrey Arshavin for several months now. However, recent reports claim that the Russian outfit have turned their attention to Robin van Persie, whose future has been in some doubt this season after stalling one a new deal at the Emirates.

The question would appear to be: would RVP actually consider a move to Anzhi if he decides to leave Arsenal in the near future???

I cannot turn round and say that any player would turn down a move to the Russian club, who are reported to be paying their players top wages. With Samuel Eto’o reported to be on an estimated £300,000-a-week package, its quite difficult for any player not to join them at present.

In a recent interview with player-coach Roberto Carlos, the Brazilian legend commented on who Anzhi maybe interested in January and next summer:

‘Anelka is not the only player. Nene from PSG and Van Persie from Arsenal are players we are following.’

It is also reported that the mega-rich club are interested in acquiring the services of Fabio Capello, Frank Lampard and Steve Gerrard, as they look to turn themselves into a world force.
