‘I do not know what I will do, I cannot predict the future’

Robin van Persie has once again refused to commit his long-term future to Arsenal, leaving many Gooners wondering if he will in fact remain at the Emirates after the completion of the current season.

The 28-year-old striker, who has already netted 3 goals in 7 Premier League appearances so far this season for Arsenal, watched Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy all walk out of the club during the summer transfer window, and with the Gunners well off the pace so early on in the current season, the Holland international is now contemplating whether he should follow in their footsteps come next summer.

Despite being tied down to Arsenal until June 2013, RVP has so far declined to open talks over a new deal at the Emirates, claiming he cannot predict the future.

He was quoted in The Times saying:

‘I do not know (what I will do), I cannot predict the future.’

‘Everybody makes his own history and only afterwards can you see how that went.’

The Dutchman has been linked with a reported £30 million January move to Manchester City in recent weeks as a possible replacement for Carlos Tevez, whose time at the Etihad Stadium looks up.

What’s even more worrying for us as fans is the fact that our captain hasn’t ruled out a move to another Premier League outfit and is amazed at the rapid development of English football since his arrival back in 2004:

‘I do not know. For one thing, as an indication, when I came to Arsenal we immediately beat City.’

‘But in recent years much has happened in England. Nevertheless, I think the Premiership is still the best league in the world, it gives me everything I want.’

What do you guys make of all this?

Do you think RVP will sign a new deal or will he be off next summer?

Give us your thoughts on the matter

Well given the current situation of the club I would not blame him if he said he wanted to leave. Things must improve rapidly on and off the pitch at Arsenal if we really don’t want to lose any more of our star players. I hope the Arsenal hierarchy have taken this shocking start to the season as a wakeup call and are ready to change their penny pinching ways.

He can go if he wants, Arsenal will never die and i’ll never stop wearing my logo. New stars will surely twinkle!

It sounds not good enough, Wenger must bring some good players in the january transfer window otherwise we will lost our captain again during or end of the season. wenger should also make plan B when Persie also demands for departure so Wenger should be in touch to the market and keep an eye for his alternate striker as experience and quality. We are very disappointed for the lost of 4 big players last summer but can not afford another big lost.
