Last month it was reported that Arsene Wenger sent scouts to Italy in order to run the rule over Padova’s attacking midfield sensation Ousmane Drame.
Well, new reports now suggest that the Gunners are in fact edging closer to signing the 19-year-old Serie B star after the player’s agent recently revealed that talks between the two clubs are still ongoing over a possible transfer.
Drame’s agent, George Atangana, insists that he has been in contact with Wenger over his client, but also admits there is some interest from Italy as well.
He told Mediagol:
‘Arsenal? It’s true, with the English club I’m working on him directly. Wenger and I talk about their interest.’
‘He is also liked by Fiorentina.’
