‘Nasri could be on his way if Mata is brought’

Former Gunner Stewart Robson believes the potential acquisition of Valencia’s Juan Mata could spell the end for Samir Nasri at Arsenal.

Robson, who made over 100 appearances for the Gunners during the 80’s, deems Mata as a perfect addition to Arsene Wenger’s squad, but believes the Spaniard’s arrival could hasten Nasri’s departure, with both Manchester clubs still monitoring the French midfielder’s situation.

Robson told talkSPORT’s All Sports Show:

‘[Mata] is a typical Arsenal player. Arsene Wenger seems to buy players who can play in wide areas or play in the role behind the main striker.’

‘You look at Fabregas, Nasri, Arshavin, Gervinho or van Persie. They can all play that role so Mata is another player who can do exactly that.’

‘But I think it shows a sign that Samir Nasri could be on his way if Mata is brought.’

Do you agree with Robson?

Would Mata’s arrival signal the end for Nasri?

i hope the mata deal isnt off, i really like juan mata, hes a special player that i would love to see at arsenal.

  • Grant says:

From what i heard the deal was off because arsenal are too tight to fork out the required money for a top player.

This what will happen Fabregas will go then Nasri will go Wenger will come out and say he will try to add if the right player comes becomes available, surprise, surprise the right player will not materialise. Wenger will then come out and say do not judge us until the season is over and he will put in schools to replace the departed Fab and Nas.

We will do ok in the champions league (only because we will have an easy run) then when we face a team of quality they will teach us a lesson. We will bail out of the 2 cups fairly early as wengers main priorty will be the champions league. We will be fighting for top 3 spot but will have had injuries to 2-3 key players and then drop off and end up 4th-5th wenger will then come out and say the team are good enough but just had a bad run of luck at an important time in the season…hold on hasnt this happended every year for 6 years.

NOTHING WILL CHANGE ARSENAL ARE NOW A SELLING CLUB AND NOTHING MORE, THE BRIDESMAID NEVER THE BRIDE, ALWAYS LOOKING ON AS OTHER TEAMS PROGRESS AND SUCCEED.

sell nasri and farbricab .buy mata and harzap

  • Aliyu says:

Interest in Mata only means that Fabregas’departure is accepted as inevitable.
Nasri would then remain and play in a more central position.

Cheapskate Wenger does it again… misses the Mata deadline.
Shame I have already renewed my season tickets (had to in June). At this rate, I do not intend to give not 1 penny more to Arsenal, AW or Gazides. If I don’t see a new CB to partner TM and new new full back and/or a new DM to cover for Song in January, I’m not renewing.
I’m also sure that thousands others are thinking the same as me !!!
