‘Currently, everyone is standing still.’

‘Everyone expects everyone else to make the first move. Everyone holds on to their cards, hoping for the major transfer.’

‘Nobody blinks until late July, early August. Then we will analyse the gaps in each team. But I am very active on the phone.’

These are the words of Arsene Wenger, as the Arsenal chief recently told a French Radio station that the North London club will not be rushed in the transfer market.

Now, I’m not trying to belittle or make Wenger look like a fool, but doesn’t the Frenchman know that Manchester United have already snapped up three players this summer?

Wenger’s recent quotes indicate to me that it will be another agonizing summer for us fans to behold, and to suggest that it could take several weeks for our club to make any significant movement in the market sounds daunting to say the very least.

I understand that Wenger needs to ‘write up’ his transfer list, as well as scout his preferred targets, but he can’t dwell for too long.

We have been linked with a number of high-profile players this summer, but it seems nothing – apart from this apparent Gervinho transfer which should have been done and dusted already – is going on at Arsenal at the moment.

We are set to lose Gael Clichy, Cesc Fabregas, and probably Samir Nasri this summer, yet Wenger has decided to bide his time and see what other clubs around him are doing first, rather than looking for quality replacements to fill the gaps.

For Wenger to suggest that ‘everyone is standing still’ is pure nonsense. Perhaps he should read the newspapers or switch on to Sky Sports News to see what is actually going on around him, because believe me, everyone is not just ‘standing still’.

Start making moves now Wenger, because if you delay then the players you’ve targeted will either be playing against us in the Premier League, or in Europe this upcoming season.

Is Wenger right to bide his time this summer, or should the Frenchman start making movements as early as possible?

I think Wenger is as ridiculous as his tactical nous. Does he need to wait until everyone starts signing so he does the same. This guy is nuts. No wonder why the Spuds now think they better than us. Why not get players as soon as possible just like the Manure and get them going as soon as possible..? Supporting Arsenal seems to be torture these days..

im a great fan of AW but if he doesnt start getting active in the market then we could see big problems next year. If we dont get any good players yet were going to loose 2 good players we wont get in to the top four.

I have a feeling that this could be AW last year if we dont win anything, as fans of Arsenal we shouldnt tolerate coming seconed.

Message to wenger start winning or get out

i dont think AW realy know how painful it is to lose out on everything last season this is another season. on his comment everybody is not stand still its only Wenger that is standing still bcos even Man U that won EPL have sign quality player to deal with Arsenal next season. failing to plan is planning to fail, a word for the wise

  • tagbo says:

that man is simply a wimp, and has no regards for his players and most of all fans. sincerely i don’t blame fabregas or nasri, clichy who wants out because when u see a team that has ambition you will know by their summer dealing, but arsenal is not the case,he is waiting for cheap players after the other teams has snapped up the best and we are left with useless ones.

I am shocked that you guys do not get it. I got it 5 seasons ago.

Wenger is only interested in buying kids and cheapos (making money for his masters) and has always been. Arsenal’s maximum sealing for a player is £15m. Their maximum salary is £120,000 / week. Arsenal’s incredibly poor relegation form from Feb – May is a sign of things to come if they lose Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy. The latter can go to blazes really but my point is that he will not be replaced (Gibbs who is even more useless will take over at left back).

Arsenal will for ever be in transition unless you get rid of Wenger and the board. This can be done by boycotting the emirates and not renewing your season tickets. David Dein and Ashimov were ready to take over – but for Stingy Stan. Oh dont tell me those two will push Arsenal into huge debts, what do you think the board is doing already ? Hill-wood is pissing on the fans when he said Lady Bracewell-Smith pocketed £100m when she sold her shares and should have kept it quiet. NOW YOU KNOW WHAT WENGER’S ARSENAL IS ALL ABOUT -Greedy men taking the club for a ride.

Rosicky – the only experienced player wanting to remain at Arsenal – really says it all.

Wengers’comments regarding the “lack of action on the transfer front” by his competition only serves to confirm he has completely lost touch with reality. It also indicates how much trouble he is having trying to convince ANYONE to join the GUNNERS at this point in time.

The Gunners are in chaos. The team is rocked by uncertainty and concern about the state of mind of the boss. The team is on the edge of a precipice as all of the key players are assessing the impact of the unfolding events on their careers. Like it or not, all of are key players are being forced to consider the option of leaving the team unless significant actions are undertaken soon.

Mr Wenger, instead of providing leadership to the players and the organization adds fuel to the fires of dissension by making occasional public statements that contradict previous statements made by him.

He has done absolutely nothing to address the festering problems or instill confidence that he is in control of the situation. He has not acquired any high profile, experienced players to fill acknowledged gaps in the team lineup and reassure one and all that he means business in this transfer window. He has not been able to turn around the imminent departures of Fabregas, Nasri and Clichy. Instead he has stood idly by as negative comments on the capabilities of all three players has found its way into the media.

Rumours and innuendos swirl mercilessly around the team with no organized PR program in operation to provide a positive, stabilizing stream of Arsenal news and perspectives on the actions of the club. Instead, we get an occasional snippet of comments from Arsene himself that show no sense of reality, no sense of urgency in actions being considered and worse, contradict his own comments made no more than weeks before.

The situation is out of hand and grows worse with each passing day. Without well considered, timely actions taken by management as part of an overall plan to address team problems, both short and long term, the team faces a very stark future.

There is no team in the premier league in worse distress at the present time. With so much uncertainty and unrest within the stars of the Arsenal team the ability of Wenger to be able to attract and SIGN ANY accomplished, high profile players to the team is virtually NIL. This is the real reason why no signings have been taking place over the past 30 days. Who, in their right minds, wants to join a team in so much chaos.

This is the current reality our Gunners are facing.

AW has become an Old miserable fart he is not able to sustain himself his ego is another contentious issue and hence he wont change much, i can see him getting Gervinho and an experienced defender who lost his shelf life to fill in temporarily his idea of youth filling in the blanks wont change, two players are not going to replace the three players on their way out, he is just gonna bring in Ramsey and Gibbs. If this club needs to see trophies it needs to get rid of AW!!!!

  • Tom says:

    Are you guys on crack?

Everyone is buying but us? Who? United? Well done. That really sums up everyone. Man Utd have signed 2 average players, and 1 good player that will struggle in the Premier League.

    The transfer window opened today!!

I think it’s ridiculous that you suggest Wenger should read the newspapers or watch Skysports news? Ye that’s a great statement there. Spot on. If you believe the papers, Arsenal are signing John O’Shea. Clichy has signed for Man City, PSG, Roma and Liverpool. Man Utd paid £8 million for Nasri. It’s all crap. Arsenal are signing ‘tomorrow’ for the last 3 weeks. Get a grip.

To the guy that said Arsenal are the team in the most turmoil in the Premier League…..is that a serious comment from you? 4th in the league, challenging on all fronts up until February. Ye your right, turmoil, I think I may go and support a team like Stoke as Arsenal will be relegated next season. Get a grip!! Player for player, Arsenal are better than Man Utd. They have much more belief than us, but we out play and scare every team in the Premier League with our play. Man Utd, ‘champions’ of England, play 5 in midfield and 1 upfront, at home, against Arsenal. They pack the midfield and counter attack. England’s supposed best team, need to play 5 in midfield? Aren’t they good enough to beat us at their own game? No, that’s why they change their style. Do Barcelona ever change their style? They’re true champions, even though I hate their guts.

You all need to get a grip. This isn’t football manager, this is real life. Arsenal and Arsene Wenger know so much more than you, that’s why they’re whe they are, and you are not. You are meant to be Arsenal fans, even if we sold every player, I would still be an Arsenal fan. Stop being moaning little bitches, and grow up, and support Arsenal. If not there’s another crappy team not far away called Tottenham. Go support them, they need fans.

  • Pete says:

Tom, check into hospital and take wenger with you, this Arsenal team scares no one and hasnt’ for some years now. Unlike you we don’t see sliding into midtable a good thing. Finish in the top four? not next year.

  • Tom says:

    Peter,

Who is going to replace us in the top 4 then next season? Mid table next season? I think you need to check yourself into hospital.

I’m sure Wenger will sign players, but it’s the first day of the window today. Only Man Utd, Liverpool, and Sunderland have signed players. Not one of them are world class players that have been signed. Look how much they have spent on them as well? Buying early, buying average players, and spending shed loads on them.

Get a grip, stop being a drama queen, and be an Arsenal fan. Not a little bitch.

    • jojo says:

Tom take Pete’s advice, stop burying your head in the sand, get real or check yourself into hospital!

      • Tom says:

Ok then Jojo, tell me what is going to happen. Look into yur crystal ball, and tell me what will happen.
