Would Nasri regret leaving Arsenal as Wenger states?

Earlier in the week, Arsene Wenger stated that Samir Nasri would regret leaving Arsenal this summer, as he is not the finished article…yet

As we all know, Nasri is one of Europe’s hottest properties at present, and with one year left on his contract, rumours are surfacing that the French midfielder could depart the emirates this summer, after continuing to stall on a new deal, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan reportedly ready to pounce.

Wenger said in a recent press conference:

’We will do everything to keep Nasri at the club. My wish is that he stays here. If he looks back he can see that he’s come quite a long way with us, and I think there is still a bit to do. It’s the club that makes the player’s career.’

When scouted by the North London club, Nasri was described by Gilles Grimandi as ‘a fantastic athlete, he’s quick, flexible and good with his feet’.

So, would Nasri regret leaving Arsenal?

Quite simply put, yes he would.

As Wenger stated, it’s the club who makes the players career, and if you look at Nasri’s stats, he has improved vastly under Wenger in the past three years.

In his first season (2008), making 44 appearances, Nasri scored 7 times as well as creating 5 assists.

The 23-year-old Frenchman made an immediate impact at the club by scoring on his debut against West Brom in the 1-0 win – he then bagged his first goal in Europe for us against Twente. Nasri was out for most of September that season with injury, but came back with a vengeance in October, scoring his third goal of the season in a 3–1 win over Everton, then managing to score both of Arsenal’s goals in a 2–1 win over Manchester United. Nasri then struggled to make an impact for much of the rest of the season, making a few assists and goals here and there.

Pointless and wrong headed article. Players want to win things. Write something about how wenger has lost the dressing room.

The issue with Samir Nasri is his agent who happen
s co-incidentally to be his father ,too,so which father doesn,t want the best or in this case, the
most wages possible for his dear son ,but at what cost as Alexander Hleb discovered to his huge regret after fleeing to what he thought was a better pay packet etc.at Barcelona, careful what you wish for ,Samir?

I have to disagree with you. Nasri has realised that our bottle job manager will not do over this summer what is necessary to make us title challengers. He’s probably seen the calibre of players that we have signed (two 16 year olds and a 19 year old from the third year of English football) and the players with whom we are heavily linked (the mediocre Gervinho and £12m boy, again from the third tier of English football, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain) and decided that we won’t be winning anything.

    WENGER OUT!

Nasri will improve elsewhere, he has dismissed a move to Spurs because he’s faithful, but feels moving to Chelsea or Man United wouldn’t be unfaithful … he’ll improve at Old Trafford but the Old man there could retire at any time and be replaced by somebody who’s complete gash. United would be a risky gamble. Chelsea has too much competition for his place in the team, same at Man City and Liverpool. He’ll have to go abroad.

Hard as I try to relegate this thought to the background, it keeps flooding my mind. Nasri an excellent player by every standard but hey he is just one player out of ten at every point in time when we play. I think the collective contributions of other players made him excel. He can ply his trade elsewhere and end all the speculations since this is not healthy for fans who have suffered yet another frustrating season. I think same of Cesc. The Arsenal is greater than any one individual. Having said that, I wish the manager steps up his game and for once go for experience instead of potentials. It might do us a great deal of good. Thanks
