Bacary Sagna has confirmed that Cesc Fabregas wants to return to his boyhood club Barcelona.

The Arsenal right-back recently told French Radio, RMC:

‘I can say it’s true that Cesc wants to go to Barca.’

‘Fabregas wants to return to his country of birth, to his city, where his family are. He wants to play for one of the best teams in the world, Barcelona, and that’s understandable.’

However, do Arsenal fans share the Frenchman’s view?

The 24-year-old Spaniard has been linked with a move back to Barcelona for the past three seasons, and to be honest with you, it’s becoming rather irritating hearing the same old story over and over again.

But 28-year-old Sagna believes it will be difficult for the La Liga champions to land Cesc this summer. The Frenchman said:

’At the moment, however, he is still Arsenal’s captain.’

On Monday, Arsene Wenger denied that Fabregas will be leaving for Barca this summer.

I think the Arsenal fans are split about Fabregas leaving. Of course, no one wants him to depart the Emirates, but I’m sure loads of people are resigned to the fact he is in fact going to leave us – I am one of them.

I don’t want him to go, but I just can’t see him staying to be fair, especially if the money is right. In my eyes, this is the only thing that is keeping him at Arsenal, the fact Barcelona haven’t really tabled a substantial offer for him…yet.

Wenger said that Fabregas won’t be leaving, but can you really keep a player against his wish? And if the cash offer, or a cash plus player offer is right, I see Wenger selling.

I think deep down we all know that our captain will leave this summer, I just hope that we get a decent amount of money plus a player or two for Cesc.

If we are going to sell, we should try and squeeze every single penny out of Barca – what’s the point of selling him for half his valuation, right?

If he does go, I’d like him to make a statement in the exact way Thierry did when he left for Barcelona in 2007.

I will state it one more time, I want Fabregas to stay for several more years at Arsenal, but I just feel that there is no point of keeping at a player at the club who doesn’t want to be there.

Is it ‘understandable’ that Cesc wants to leave Arsenal for Barcelona this summer?

I think Cesc should be sold as he has lost the spark in playing for Arsenal.
If Cesc had stayed injured and Nasri had played whole season(barring injury) we probably would have not lost all this season.
We should hold on to Nasri at all cost.
