‘I don’t know if I will sign a new contract’

|

Arsenal’s Samir Nasri has stunned the North London club by refusing to rule out a big summer move to Premier League champions Manchester United this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Nasri, who managed to bag 15 goals for the Gunners this season, has recently hinted that he could swap the Emirates for Old Trafford this summer after national compatriot, Patrice Evra, told the French midfielder to join him at United.

The 23-year-old’s current contract expires next summer, and with no signs of a new deal transpiring, Wenger may look to sell the Frenchman this summer, rather than risk losing him on a free. However, Nasri wants to know if United’s interest has any credibility before deciding anything. The creative midfielder told French broadcasters TF1’s Telefoot:

‘Do I want to go to Man United? Initially, we should see if it’s real and if it is concrete.’

It is believed that Nasri will ponder his future after France’s friendly fixtures next week against Ukraine and Poland. He said:

‘I don’t know if I will sign a new contract. Anyway, the discussions are ongoing. For the moment, I don’t think about this. We will speak about it after the match with Poland.’

Wenger recently told French Radio that money is a key stumbling block in the deal, and that both parties are yet to meet an agreement. The Arsenal boss stated:

‘We have a financial disagreement which hasn’t yet been settled. We are still in discussions but we haven’t agreed a deal.’

Even though United are reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation, Wenger insists he won’t sell Nasri to the Red Devils:

‘One thing’s for sure, we’re not selling him to United.’

To be honest with you guys, I’m actually fed up with this Nasri saga – which seems to have eclipsed the Fabregas one.

If the Frenchman doesn’t want to be at Arsenal (and this goes for Cesc as well) then as crazy as it may sound to a lot of you reading this, then Wenger should just sell him and look for a potential replacement.

Nasri, or any other Arsenal player for that matter, shouldn’t be holding the club to ransom. If you want more money then go find another club that will give it to you, because Arsenal certainly won’t break their stable wage structure for you mate.

If we do sell him this summer, then I hope it’s to a club abroad, and not to Manchester United – it just wouldn’t make sense offloading him to a title rival, and evidently, making them a stronger side for next season’s campaign.

Let him go, if he was committed to the club he wud not even consider united as his next team, major trator, he can go to a club that’s able to offer crazy salaries if its a financial issue causing the dissagreements!!

for me man city and real madrid the best team to sell a player to.they pay high fee and if you dont perform they let you rot on the bench.
this is just like adebayor, after one good season he thinks he’s bigger than arsenal fc.cesc will be missed more. not nasri, he should be sold if he doesnt sign.
btw, another player i would like to see in arsenal shirt is marouane feilani but surely we wouldnt pay what everton will ask. a cheaper and more combative version could be feyenoor leroy fer. both would be nice.

    @Maverick
I have a feeling in my water that THIS Summer we will see the signing of new blood at long last.
We HAVE to believe that things will change.

Great article, i agree 100% with your statement. If its true that he is turning down a reported 95k contract or whatever it is to be on an equal salary as the Captain of Arsenal he can jog on. Arsenal will be better off with a player who wants play for the club in comparison to Nasri. When your offered that much playing the sport that you love, you have no place in Arsenal football club. (No matter how good you are)

      * when your offered that much playing the sport you love and have the greed to turn it down for more money, you have no place in Arsenal Football Club

I do want him to stay at Arsenal, but the fact is we have lost much better players and still survived. If he doesn’t want to play for us then get lost, we’ll lost much better.
