Should Arsenal sell Eboue if QPR table £5M this summer?

Recently promoted QPR are ready to back their manager Neil Warnock in the transfer market, and have reportedly named out-of-favour Gunner Emmanuel Eboue as one of their top summer targets.

Though Eboue has remained a squad player throughout his entire Arsenal career so far. The 28-year-old right-back remains a committed player, one who has never moaned about lack of first-team opportunities.

In spite of being a great player to have amongst the ranks, Eboue is supposedly set to fall victim to Wenger’s supposed squad revamp this summer.

Wenger is reportedly ready to listen to offers, and a bid of around £5 million will be sufficient enough to persuade the Gunners chief to let go of the Ivorian international.

Eboue managed to make a total of 22 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring a single goal in the process.

Undoubtedly, his biggest moment of the season will be something he will want to forget in a hurry. The full-back made a very silly challenge on Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva ten minutes into injury time which allowed the Reds to equalize via a penalty. The anger of Arsenal’s fans towards Eboue was enormous, and I think only a very few of them will be sad to see him leave this summer.

But a player should not be judged on one single error, not matter how costly it was.

Eboue put in a respectable performance during our 2-1 victory over Barcelona, which really went unnoticed due to Jack Wilshere’s brilliant display.

Personally I want Eboue to stay at Arsenal. For one he is a great player to have on board because of his jovial nature (remember his crazy warm-ups!) and is not one to sulk if he doesn’t play. He is committed to the club and does not create any unwanted problems to disrupt team morale. He can also play anywhere along the right wing (both as a defender or a winger) and has also in his time, filled in on the left wing.

Eboue is a good option to call upon when we are defending leads. His versatility will certainly be useful to the team, and so will his direct style of play…even though he does lose possession regularly.

If Wenger does decide to sell the Ivorian, in my opinion, it will not have a massive impact on our squad. But, should QPR acquire him, then they will certainly have a gem of a player (by their standards) in their hands.

I like Eboue, he is a great bench player and in the big matches he delivers very well…can anyone remember him in the match against Barcelona?(1st leg) he was awesome !! he is strong and can play many positions….fullback, winger, centre midfield or any other position that needs to be filled ,very useful player…if he goes , Arsenal will let him go with regret !

Snap their hands off – I will drive him to loftus road – I am sure he is a nice guy and means well but should never wear an arsenal shirt again.

Yes Eboue should be sold, for several reasons. For himself, hopefully he would get to play more often, and possibly realise his percieved potential. For Arsenal, this should mean a focussing on a quality R.B.as cover for Sagna.Eboue is similar to Clichy in many respects, mainly if he does not have a Compass strapped to his wrist whilst playing he does not have any idea of his territorial position.

Eboue is a legend, power runs, covers, and nice crosses, complements any player he plays along side….keep him and get rid of all the usels deadwoods

Complete tosser of a player really hate his playacting he brings the club down. That said I thought we get closer to £8M for him considering some of the fees being talked about.

Keep Eboue, he’s a top player. He can play anywhere and covers us for injuries. Any problems he’s had have been down to Wenger’s crap team selection.

These days even unproven young player from a random low league costs 10 million +. Eboue is a very good backup player that can play many positions and importantly he doesn’t complain for the lack of trophy, money, players etc etc like all our supposed “stars” do. Arsenal should definately keep this man. Remember, he’s not a star. Just a very good backup player. Imagine if sagna is injured, who else can we confidently throw to that RB position?

I cant bliv wot some dumb pple r sayin here. U shouldn’t even think of wantin Eboue out of d team. He shows more commitment than Fabregas does to d team.

You’re spot on mate. Rather have a decent committed player than a star who plays with his heart elsewhere..

  • Ricky says:

I love Eboue, he is committed, loves Arsenal and never complains. Plain and simply he is a good player in general. For me anyway I think Eboue is better then Sagna and should be starting every game.
