Has this Arsenal youngster got the potential to emulate Jack Wilshere?

|

Arsenal youngster Henri Lansbury is hoping to emulate team-mate Jack Wilshere and make a name for himself next season.

Well, he will certainly have the chance to impress when he participates in the European Under-21 Championship for England later this month.

Lansbury spoke of Wilshere taking his chance this season and credited the 19-year-old by branding him a great player. He was quoted in The Guardian saying:

‘Jack’s taken his chance and he’s done well, he’s a great player.’

The 20-year-old has had the benefit of playing first-team football for Norwich this season, where he managed to score 4 goals in 23 appearances for the Canaries. The youngster also made himself somewhat of a cult hero for his goal celebration against Leeds, where he performed ‘The Dougie Dance’.

Has he got the potential to emulate Wilshere? He certainly has.

Everyone in Norwich will tell you the same, especially after bagging some crucial goals for them this season.

I think it’s very easy to write off any player at Arsenal, especially one that we’ve not seen a lot of in recent seasons. But I truly believe Lansbury has the ability to play alongside Wilshere and form a great partnership in midfield.

Henri Lansbury was very quick to thank Norwich City manager Paul Lambert for his opportunity in the side, and more importantly, for the first-team experience:

‘Paul Lambert gave me my chance to do that and I thank him a lot. It was great, obviously, getting first-team experience again and playing week in, week out was great. Promotion’s massive and to get that at 20 years of age was great.’

Realistically, we need to see him play in a number of games for Arsenal to see what he is truly capable of. However, it will be up to Arsene Wenger to decide when his chances will come, as the player stated:

‘I think Arsenal’s the goal now. I have to go back and give it a go from there. It’s a chance for me to show the boss that I’m capable of a first-team place and it’s up to me to do it.’

Personally, I think that Henri Lansbury has the potential required to make it at Arsenal, and having seen him in highlights of him at Norwich this season, I think it is only a matter of time before he is given the same opportunities that Jack Wilshere has been given.

Can Lansbury emulate Wilshere?

Let him play for Norwich one more season and get more experience, he’ll need it and deserves to get a chance to keep Norwich up. Don’t want to burn him like Theo. Until they are out of -21, it’s taking more risks than doing good to them.

Surplus to requirments. Not needed. Get him out of here. Maybe he should go norwich on a permanent deal.

You’ve either never seen him play or you just don’t know what you are talking about. Henri will be a top player IF he stay at a top club. There are plenty of young players at Arsenal that aren’t or won’t be good enough but Lansbury isn’t one. To suggest we get rid of him is irrational, illogical stupidity. Let him stay on loan for another season if he isn’t going to get game time at Arsenal but he is a future Arsenal first team player.

norwich city are in the prem so it would be beneficial to split his games between norwich and arsenal. At Norwich he would be struggling(theoretically)and may have to defend for large parts of the matches but again (theoretically) for arsenal he would enjoy more time and space in which to create more.
This would give him a good variety of games. I wish him great luck, he is a very good player already.

let him play sell nasri (if he dont sign the contact)

I think he is a good enough player to play for Arsenal, but I think this season he will not be given a chance, so Arsenal should loan him out again and then bring him back the following season.
