Should Arsenal acquire this Shakhtar Donetsk star for £5M?

|

With Nasri’s contract negotiations not going as planned, Arsene Wenger should definitely be looking for a potential replacement for the French star, if he does decides to call it a day at Arsenal.

Brazilian playmaker Willian, who plays for Shakhtar Donetsk, has been strongly linked with a move to the Emirates this summer following a string of quality performances for the Ukrainian outfit, and could possibly be man for the job.

Considering the price tag placed on Willian, a reported £5 million as claimed by the Islington Gazette, the Arsenal boss will no doubt be in the hunt for the Brazilian star.

Whilst Wenger claimed earlier in the week that he is confident of keeping Nasri out of Manchester United’s clutches, the Gunners are still thought to be monitoring the 22-year-old over a potential summer move to the Emirates.

Wenger recently admitted that transfer activity this summer will be busy at the club, with an attacking midfielder thought to be high on the agenda, alongside a goalkeeper and central defender.

The former Corinthians starlet has also been seen as a potential replacement for Denilson, which in my opinion makes more sense, as the young Brazilian is being heavily tipped to leave Arsenal for La Liga side Sevilla this summer.

Willian only has one-year left on his current deal with Shakhtar, and the possibility has already arisen for Wenger to bring him to the Emirates in order to strengthen his side for next season’s campaign.

Should Wenger recruit Willian this summer, or are there better options out there for the Frenchman to consider?

I don’t really know too much about this player, but for what I have seen on youtube, he looks a good player. He has pace, skill and takes on players with ease. For 5 million he is a bargain and a great signing.

Arsenal should go all out to get the signature of this guy! With his skills, fabregas’s passes and wilshere’s energy, i feel it is the complete ingredient that Arsenal needs. I am highly disappointed with Nasri, Arsenal made him who he isand if he feels like throwing it all away, good forr him t theN.

whether Nasri leaves is not the matter. Willian will so much quality to the team. he is worth more than 5m and Wenger should take this opportunity

This guy is better than Nasri and Walcot combined. For that amount, 5M its a give away. If the club could keep Nasri and still get this guy, then we will know for certain that Arsene Wenger is out for serious business for the coming season. Let him sell Arshavin, Denilson, Bendthner and Charmakh. These players are not Arsenal quality kind of players for now. We should also ship out Almunia and Squillachi and get another central defender to back up Varmelen and Djorou. Just three or four solid additions will do.

  • Shakhtar fan says:

For £5M? No chance, lads. At least for 30.
