Arsenal and RB Leipzig are interested in signing Wolfsburg pair Gian-Luca and Davide Itter, according to Kicker (via transfermarkt.de).

The twins are close to the end of their contracts at the Bundesliga club with both expiring in 18 months time.

Both players transferred from Eintracht Frankfurt’s youth system in 2015 and they are playing in Wolfsburg’s Under-19 team this season. Davide is a right-back, who can also play on the right wing and central midfield. Gian-Luca plays on the opposite side, and is most commonly used as a left back, but can also play on the left wing and in central midfield.

This season for the Under-19s, Davide has played six times, providing one assist. Gian-Luca, meanwhile, has played more regularly and has featured in 13 matches, scoring two goals and providing an impressive seven assists.

The doubts over both their futures at Wolfsburg have led the club’s sporting director Olaf Rebbe to speak publicly to say they are trying to sign them up to new contracts:

‘We are in constant contact with the family and their agent; all parties strive for a long-term cooperation.’
