Barcelona will pursue a move for Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez rather than Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according reports.

The Arsenal striker has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks as his contract at the Emirates runs down.

With a year left to run on his contract when the summer arrives, Arsenal may well be forced to sell rather than risk losing their leading scorer for nothing at the end of next season.

However, Martinez’s form for Inter has seen Barcelona shift their focus to the Argentine as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season and in turn boosted Arsenal’s chances of keeping hold of their star striker.

Reports have suggested that the Gabon forward is happy at Arsenal but is demanding £300,000-a-week to continue his career at the Emirates.

But while Barcelona have prioritised elsewhere for a forward, its thought that Arsenal will now have to fend off interest from both PSG and Manchester United, with the latter linked with a £50million offer.

The Gunners are determined to keep hold of Aubameyang but will not allow him to leave on a free.
