With major incomings set to be at a premium at The Emirates this summer, fans have been calling for Unai Emery to get some of his youngsters to step up to the first-team plate next season.
One of those is Reiss Nelson, who after a decent loan spell in the Bundesliga last season, is set to return to the Arsenal fold with hopes of nailing down a place in the senior side.
Nelson’s season came to an end on Monday as England’s Under-21 European Championship campaign ended with a 3-3 draw against Croatia – in which the 19-year-old won and scored a first-half penalty.
And these Arsenal supporters believe now is the time for the teenager to prove his worth with a solid run in the first team.
With Emery giving opportunities to Matteo Guendouzi and Eddie Nketiah last season, and Arsenal without a wide selection of wingers to choose from, Nelson could yet find himself working his way into the manager’s plans.
While some fans were keen to warn Nelson the dangers of playing in front of the demanding Emirates crowd, there were supporters who were hoping that the right-winger could become a regular starter in the months to come:
We will only know how good he is once given a chance not stop start in and out games

This man is the future. He needs to be a regular starter from next season

Completely agree! Raw talent, will only get better if he’s given opportunities in the 1st team. I think he’s good enough ????????

You know I’m all in for Unai. I want to back him but if he doesn’t give nketiah willock saka nelson smith enough chances, it will be on him. Useless to blame the board. They are good enough to play against top opposition and not vorksla or qarabag.

Will need to give him a chance

I agree he needs given a chance but 2 bad games and the fickle fans will call for him to be sold. Is he strong enough of a character to survive the boo boys

It saddens my heart anytime I hear of Arsenal looking for a winger when we have Nelson. Amazingly we are looking young ones too. Nelson must be given the same opportunity that was given Guendouzi. Probably the only way to keep our best young talents at Hale End .
