Reported Arsenal target Mehdi Benatia is pushing for a move away from Juventus this month after being left unhappy with his game time at the Serie A club.

The 31-year-old complained about the lack of opportunities he was given by manager Massimiliano Allegri back in November and the defender recently published an Instagram story during a dinner night out in Turin where the waiter told him, ‘if you score a goal, you have to dedicate it to me’, to which the Morocco international replied, ‘I have to play, in order to score’.

Benatia has fallen down the pecking order at Juventus since the Italian club re-signed Leonardo Bonucci and it’s believed both AC Milan and Arsenal are monitoring his situation ahead of a possible transfer this month.

Unai Emery will be keen to improve his defensive ranks this January after a plague of injuries combined with dodgy displays at the back have cost the Gunners on many occasions already this season.

However, it is understood Juventus do not want to sell Benatia this month but could allow him to depart the club at the end of the season.

The former Roma and Bayern Munich centre-back has made just six appearances in all competitions for Juventus this season.
