Arsenal have confirmed Sven Mislintat will leave on February 8th after 14 months as the club’s Head of Recruitment.

Mislintat joined the Gunners from Borussia Dortmund in November 2017 but there has been recent speculation over the future the German’s at the Emirates.

Unai Emery was asked about the Mislintat’s position at the club last week, but the Spaniard suspected nothing was wrong, claiming he and the German were working ‘normally’ during this month’s transfer window

However, its now been confirmed that Mislintat will depart the Emirates next month.

Arsenal released a brief statement which read:

“Sven Mislintat will be leaving us on February 8, 2019.

“Sven has been with us since December 1, 2017 and has done a truly outstanding job in helping us recruit players who are making a big impact now and will do so even more in the future.

“We wish him every success for the future and thank him for his extremely hard work on behalf of Arsenal.”

Mislintat himself left the following message:

“It’s been an amazing experience to work at a great club like Arsenal in what has been a big time of change. I am excited about what the future holds for the club and am looking forward to new challenges for myself.”

The 46-year-old made a few high-profile signings during his time as Head of Recruitment at Arsenal, most noticeably bringing in the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sokratis from Borussia Dortmund.

It’s understood that the Gunners are now lining up a move for former midfielder Edu for the position of technical director at the club having operated in the same role for Corinthians for the past eight years.
