Arsenal Under 21s got off to a flyer in their maiden EFL Trophy match against Coventry City last night.
Freddie Ljungberg’s side came out 3-0 winners at the Ricoh Arena with the young Gunners putting their senior opponents to the sword in their first group match of the competition.
Striker Eddie Nketiah took to Twitter after the match to declare his delight at their opening win, as well as getting on the scoresheet with the second goal. Fans were quick to praise the 19-year-old for his performance.
Gonna be such a star Eddie. Keep it going pal.

Nketiah has featured as a substitute in the Premier League and the Europa League. However, he made his biggest impression in the Carabao Cup last campaign, scoring two vital goals to help the Gunners come from a goal down to beat Norwich 2-1 after extra time.
Next up for Nketiah and the under 21s will be Cheltenham Town who they face at the end of October.
