Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard has denied reports that he has agreed a deal to join Bayern Munich.
Reports in July suggested that the World Cup winner was poised to make the move to the Bundesliga giants, but speaking in an interview with L’Equipe, the 22-year-old set the record straight.
“I did not sign anything at all (with Bayern). You are the journalists who say that I signed (for Bayern). I’m in Stuttgart, I’m fine there. My career plan was to stay one more season in Germany.”
The Sun believe that both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing Pavard, and it looks like he will be looking to move next summer, going by his own words.
The France international generally plays as a centre-back at club level, but he was utilised at right-back at the World Cup by Didier Deschamps. He had only made his debut for his country back in November before being thrust into the limelight at this summer’s tournament in Russia.
Pavard moved to Stuttgart two years ago from Lille, playing his first campaign in the German second division before catching the eye in his second season after his side’s return to the Bundesliga.
