Arsenal closing in on £62m triple-deal as Emery leads rejuvenation

|

Arsenal are set to see their side rejuvenated by new boss Unai Emery, who is set to secure the first signings of his tenure at the Emirates Stadium.

The Spaniard has already captured Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus but will now splash the cash on three significant signings, according to The Evening Standard.

Reports claim that Arsenal are set for  £62m triple-deal by landing Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira from Sampdoria, Germany goalkeeper Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund’s experienced defender Sokratis Papastahopoulos.

Emery has reportedly been handed a £50m budget at the Emirates Stadium this summer and looks set to splash that cash immediately, with a deal for Torreira being worth £26m, a swoop for Leno costing £20m and a £16m deal for Sokratis lined-up.

Arsenal will therefore have to sell if they’re to land any other summer acquisitions but, already boasting a forward line that includes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, may feel they have a side ready to challenge for significant honours.
