Arsenal are looking to bolster their midfield ranks this summer but may have to switch transfer targets, as the fight for one of the assets they’re eyeing is heating up.

The Sun claims Borussia Dortmund and Napoli, both of whom can offer Champions League football next season, have joined the hunt of OGC Nice’s highly-rated midfielder Jean-Michel Seri.

Ivory Coast international Seri is poised to leave the French Riviera this summer and, after seeing a proposed move to Barcelona fall through last summer, is being eyed by Arsenal for a move to the Premier League.

Available for a reported £35m due to a clause in his contract, Seri’s services have also been courted by Chelsea but the two English sides could face disappointment in the market following the emergence of interest from Napoli and Borussia Dortmund.

Napoli, runners-up in the Serie A, look likely to have plenty of funds to splash in the market this summer with Jorginho attracting plenty of interest and potentially on the move for a significant fee.
