Premier League new boys Wolves have emerged as shock contenders for Jack Wilshere’s signature this summer, according to The Sun.

The 26-year-old Arsenal midfielder is no closer to extending his stay at the Emirates and could leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

It’s understood that several Premier League clubs including Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton are keeping tabs on Wilshere’s contract situation. As well as competition from Premier League rivals, Wolves will also have to contend with clubs abroad, with Juventus and AC Milan also monitoring developments.

Wilshere has made it clear he wants to remain at Arsenal but is unhappy at the current offer tabled.

Wilshere has had his injury problems in the past but has been fairly consistent this season for Arsenal, making 35 appearances in all competitions so far, scoring two goals and creating three.

Wilshere’s potential departure from the Emirates this summer could divide Arsenal fans, with some believing he is a future captain in the making while some not rating him so highly.
