Arsenal have moved ahead of Manchester City in their bid to sign Barcelona youngster Robert Navarro, according to the Daily Mail journalist Simon Jones.

Pep Guardiola’s have reportedly cooled their interest in the 15 year old, with a decision likely on the player’s future coming in the next couple of days.

The 15 year old can sign on professional terms with any club when he turns 16 on April 12th, and while he could yet stay at Barca, the Gunners are now the likeliest alternative for the midfielder.

Navarro is said to have had discussions with his current club over a the last few days, and it is believed he has been offered new terms in order to remain at La Masia.

However, many players have left Barcelona’s academy in recent seasons to continue their development elsewhere, and the teenager could be the latest starlet who decides to leave Catalonia to make his name at another club.
