Arsenal are set for major changes this summer and it could involve seeing a number of players depart the Emirates Stadium, as a host of members of the squad have uncertain futures in north London.

The Gunners look increasingly likely to lose Jack Wilshere upon the end of his contract, with the England international not happy with the renewal terms that Arsenal have offered and Arsene Wenger’s side so far refusing to budge.

A host of sides in Europe have been linked with the services of Arsenal’s academy graduate, including fellow Premier League outfit Everton, and Toffees boss Sam Allardyce has stated that he’s been impressed by the 26-year-old this season.

Speaking to TalkSport regarding Everton’s rumoured interest, the former England boss said:

“I can’t comment on that, you’re not supposed to be talking about that! I’ve always admired him, oh yes. I’ve seen a big difference in Jack Wilshere recently, in his frame, in his body. He looks like he has really got the bit between his teeth.”

“He looks a lot fitter than he was and he is leaner in his face. He looks like he’s had a real go off the field, with his diet and extra training, to overcome his injury problems and prove what a great player he is.”

“Hopefully if he is over his problems, whether it’s Arsenal or another club, we all hope he has a long career ahead of him.”

Allardyce’s praise certainly suggests that he’s keen on luring Wilshere to Goodison Park if an opportunity arises but Wilshere’s preference is to remain at Arsenal.
