Arsenal are ready to go for broke this summer as they seek to improve on another disappointing campaign and the Gunners could renew interest in a target they chased in January.

Arsene Wenger’s side were busy in the mid-season window, seeing the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott leave the Emirates Stadium, whilst Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were drafted in to north London.

The Gunners eyed further deals though and were widely attributed with interest in Bordeaux sensation Malcom, who has caught the eye this season with a return of eight goals and six assists in 26 Ligue 1 appearances.

That form has attracted interest but Arsenal have received a huge boost in the chase, as The Daily Mail quotes Bayern Munich boss Jupp Heynckes as stating the Bavarian outfit are not chasing a deal for the South American starlet.

“I have never seen him play. Therefore, I am not able give an opinion on him. But I don’t think there is interest here. He always gets put into the shopping window but nobody really goes after him.”

Whilst that will give Arsenal encouragement, they could face other rivals in the chase for Malcom’s signature- including that of Tottenham Hotspur.
